In Limbo....

We have currently moved out of our old apartment (bye, bye no.1) and are waiting for the keys to our new apartment, which is awfully swish and i am super excited to decorate and make it our little home. However, waiting for the keys means we are in the awful state of being stuck in limbo, meaning staying at Mike's dads for the next five days or so.

Now don't get me wrong. My other half's dad is absolutely lovely. In fact, stand them both next to each other and i feel like i am looking twenty years into the future. They are so alike, it's kind of scary.  But it's not our own place. We are guests. So i cannot simply walk around in my pyjamas or in a towel and sprawl across the sofa with a bowl of cereal and watch Netflix to my hearts content. It's safe to say i'm feeling a little bit unsettled what with being surrounded by boxes, being unable to find anything (cannot remember what i've packed in each box - whoops!) and not knowing exactly what date we can move. I am already longing for my own bed and it's only day two!

Still, it's only a week. The sun is FINALLY shining and i'm off to Sheffield's food festival this afternoon. So after that quick update/vent i shall bid you adieu. Enjoy the last day of the bank holiday weekend - i'm off to stuff my face full of yummy food!

Much love,

Katie xxx

Life update.

It pains me to see how badly i've neglected my little, itsy-bitsy space of the internet but the past few months have been more than a little crazy.  I MOVED!

I've moved from my tiny village in the middle of nowhere to Sheffield (or what i fondly refer to it as the big but not so big city) I've been here for just over two months and i feel that i'm finally getting into the swing of things up here. I'm not going to lie, it hasn't been easy. For the first two weeks i barely left our apartment by myself; due to being a little intimidated by the hustle and bustle and the fear of getting lost but after using a lot of baby steps i feel like i'm starting to get used to life up here and i'm enjoying having everything on my doorstep. Don't get me wrong, i do still get homesick from time to time but i just remind myself that all my friends and family are only just a two and a half car journey away and i pick myself back up.

I rather quickly got myself a new job which i'm enjoying and now me and my boyfriend are planning on moving again in the next few weeks. Yes, i know, i've just moved up here but we need to and we want a little place to call ours. We love our current apartment and have our eye on one in the same block so please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed for us.

So this post was just to confirm that i am in fact still alive and kicking. I cannot wait till things have quietened down and i can give this blog a little attention. I'm bursting with ideas that i want to put into practice. I now shall leave you with a few photos i've taken since i've moved up here.

Friday catch up

Every Friday i plan on doing a post on what things have made me happy or what i have been loving that week.  I thought it would be a fun way to reflect and look back at the things i have done - a bit like a mini diary.  So here goes...

1) My last day at my job. It was a really emotional day with lots of tears and laughter. The hardest part was saying goodbye to some of the children i had become particularly attached too. I had been at that job for five years and with spending forty hours a week there so as you can imagine it was like saying goodbye to family.

2) Catching up with a friend this week in Costa. There is nothing better than sitting in Costa with a hot chocolate or a tea (a chai tea latte in my case - yum!) with a good friend and having a giggle and a good natter. Also, very proud of myself for resisting temptation, i avoided the muffins and cakes like the plague.

3)  I have been OBSESSED with The Body Shop 'Born Lippy' strawberry lip balm. This thing smells frigging gorgeous! It's really made me want to fall back in love with the Body Shop again, i used to be extremely loyal to the body butters but then came along 'Soap and Glory' and the rest was history. Though it's healthy to sometimes step out of your comfort zone so i may have a browse in-store next time i'm shopping.

4) I have really been enjoying the TV show Dexter. Yes, i'm fully aware i'm a bit late on this bandwagon but good old Netflix has introduced me to it and i'm already on Season 3! If you have been in dark about this show just like i had, i suggest you watch it!

5) Buying a few bits and bobs for my new house, which was mega exciting. I'm planning on doing a haul next week to show you some of the things :)

6) Skyping one of my best friends and my boyfriend. Thank goodness for Skype, without it the last year and half would had been unbearable.

7) Seeing daffodils in photos on instagram. It reminds me that Spring is nearly here.

8) Not having to set my alarm for six o'clock in the morning all week. Waking up naturally is the best feeling ever!

9) How clear my skin has been since i haven't been wearing make up every day.

It's all about ME

Afternoon lovelies!

So for this wet and incredibly windy Wednesday afternoon i thought i'd do something fun. I love reading blog posts where the blogger gives you random facts about themselves (what can i say? i'm a nosy individual!) so i thought i'd have a go...  ten random facts about yours truly!

1) I have an unhealthy obsession with stationary! You literally have to drag me out of Paperchase to stop me from buying something.

2) When nervous or in a awkward situation i tend to giggle.

3)  I'm obsessed with Lemon cake!

4) Coke or pepsi gives me a tummy ache (which sucks as i love them both)

5) I was vegetarian for six months a few years ago (sadly, it didn't stick)

6) DISNEY, DISNEY, DISNEY - i LOVE Disney

7) I love watching youtube primark/ beauty hauls with a hot chocolate in the evening. To be fair i'm pretty obsessed with youtube in general

8) I used to draw a lot and write short stories when i was younger. Something that i want to get back into doing.

9) I suffer from anxiety but haven't had a panic attack in over a year :)

10) I'm roughly 5ft 3 and have ridiculously small hands!

That was harder than i thought! Right, time to make a cup of peppermint tea and watch another episode of 'Spooks' (if you're from England, do you remember that programme?)

lots of love xx

The big move up North

Morning lovelies!

Here in England (particularly the Buckinghamshire area) It is pretty much a cold, grey and wet day. Hence why i am still in my pyjamas sitting on my bed enjoying my fairy lights.

First of all i want to say; i have been a bad, bad girl! Despite having the full intention of writing a blog post every day in December i failed miserably and for that i'm sorry. In fact i have been MIA in all of January as well. So far, my blogging time-keeping has been rather appalling. I really am hoping to change that this month.

Now on to a quick update on my life over the past few months. Christmas was amazing! I think i have mentioned that Christmas is my favourite time of year so as you can imagine i definitely made the most of it. January was my last month at my job. I decided to take a month off before moving up North to Sheffield to get things organised and to spend time with family and friends, because lets face it the months are going by super quick! I also hope in February to exercise more, get back into eating more healthily and to get into more of a regular routine with this blog.

I consider this blog my little baby, and as my baby i want to nurture it with love to help it grow.

This update is super short, sorry guys! But fear not, for the rest of the day i plan on brainstorming up some ideas for future posts this month as well as fitting in my pilates hour.

Have a good tuesday guys!

Lots of love
